We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains strictly what data is collected by the Extension to fulfill its single purpose: detecting web accessibility issues automatically.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
To provide accurate accessibility audits, the Extension requires access to specific data from the web pages you analyze and your user account. We collect data in two categories:
A. Data Collected Automatically by the Extension
When you explicitly trigger an accessibility test via the Extension's side panel, we collect:
- Website Content (DOM & HTML): We access the Document
Object Model (DOM), HTML structure, text, and images of the active
tab.
Purpose: To analyze the code for WCAG compliance, ARIA attributes, and semantic structure. - Session State (Cookies & Local Storage): We access
the cookies and local storage data associated with the specific page
you are testing.
Purpose: This is strictly necessary to reproduce the page state in our backend. This allows our testing engine to analyze pages that require login or have specific user settings, ensuring the report reflects exactly what you see in the browser. - Technical Information: Browser version, screen resolution,
and operating system.
Purpose: To ensure the accessibility tests are relevant to your viewing environment.
B. User Account Information
To manage your audit history and reports, we collect:
- Authentication Data: Email address and password.
- Usage Data: Logs of when tests are performed and which URLs were tested, stored in your user dashboard.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- Performing Accessibility Audits: The HTML, Cookies, and Storage data are transmitted securely to our servers to run the automated accessibility analysis.
- Authentication & Security: To verify your identity and secure your account access.
- Generating Reports: To create downloadable reports (PDF/CSV) of the findings.
- User Dashboard: To link specific test results to your user account so you can view historical data.
We DO NOT sell your data to third parties.
We DO NOT use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
We DO NOT use your data for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
3. DATA TRANSFER AND SECURITY
Data Transmission
Because the accessibility analysis is computationally intensive and requires a controlled environment, the data collected from the browser (Page Content and Cookies) is transmitted to our secure backend servers.
All data transmission occurs over encrypted channels (HTTPS/TLS).
Data Retention
- Session Data (Cookies/HTML): This data is used temporarily to perform the analysis. Once the analysis is complete and the report is generated, the raw session data (cookies) is discarded from our processing memory.
- Reports: The generated accessibility reports (which do not contain your session cookies) are stored in your account until you choose to delete them.
4. THIRD-PARTY SHARING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the Extension:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): We use AWS for both identity
management and cloud infrastructure.
- Authentication (AWS Cognito): Your email address and password (encrypted) are processed by AWS Cognito to handle secure sign-up, sign-in, and access control.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Page content (DOM) and session data (cookies) are transmitted to and processed on AWS servers solely to execute the accessibility test. AWS is bound by strict confidentiality and security agreements.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process.
5. YOUR CONSENT AND CONTROLS
In-Product Consent
The Extension is designed with privacy in mind. It does not analyze pages in the background.
- On-Demand Execution: No data is collected or transmitted until you open the Side Panel and click "Start Test".
- Explicit Permission: Upon your first use, you will be asked to grant permission for the Extension to access page content and cookies. You may revoke this permission at any time by uninstalling the extension.
